Job Shadow Afternoon – Inspire a MGH Youth Scholar!
The MGH Youth Scholars program is looking for job shadowship hosts for 11th grade students. The students have been part of our program since 9th grade and were selected because of their interest in science and health careers and topics. They have been exploring a variety of topics in science and healthcare and are now ready to see what careers are out there! Please see the details below:
The Students: Scholars attend high school in Boston, Chelsea, or Revere. They represent a variety of backgrounds, many speak more than one language, and many will be the first in their family to attend college. All are motivated about their futures. Generally, they are all interested in science and health.
Your Role: As a host you will spend about an hour with 1-2 students and introduce them to your career. When you take them back to your work place, share with them some of the responsibilities of your job, the training and education involved, and answer any questions they may have. This is an opportunity for students to have an introduction of what your career involves. If you are interested and available to host a student please fill out the form below.
Additional information: All of our scholars have non-employee status and an MGH ID badge they can wear.

MGPA Consulting Club is recruiting enthusiastic postdocs to join their Volunteer Consulting Group (MGPA-VCG) for a 6-8 week engagement with Partners HealthCare Innovation starting in July, 2017. This is a great opportunity for you to participate in a project to gain valuable, hands-on experience in consulting, business development, and technology innovation.
ELIGIBILITY: Background in life sciences preferred. Experience in business or consulting is NOT expected or required.
HOW TO APPLY: If you would like to participate, please write a short statement of purpose (200 words) about why you are interested in participating in the MGH-VCG and describe your relevant experience. Attach your statement with your resume or CV in one PDF file. Include your availability from Monday – Friday for weekly meetings in your application. Applications for the 2017 Tufts Case Competition are now Open!
The Tufts New England Case Competition (TUNECC) is pleased to announce our fourth annual competition to be held this summer on Friday, August 4th, 2017. The competition targets PhD, MD, JD and non-MBA masters students as well as Postdoctoral Fellows from the Northeast. TUNECC focuses on structured problem solving for the global life sciences industry, and also features an expert panel discussion focused on current industry trends. Entrants will have the opportunity to network with consultants and life science professionals from firms including BCG, Health Advances, LEK Consulting, RA Capital Management, Clarion Healthcare, and ClearView Healthcare Partners.

Celebrating its 10th year, the AWIS Mentoring Circle Program is now accepting applications for mentees for the 2017-2018 year. Mentees will meet with their mentor group 2-3 hrs / week each month from September 2017 – May 2018. Individuals are matched based on their current positions and field of interest, age, future career aspirations, and goals for the mentorship program.

Clinical Research Orientation Program for PhDs (CROPP) – September 7- October 26
This eight-week program is designed to give PhDs with little to no clinical research experience firsthand training within a clinical research setting. Through a didactic curriculum, mentor meetings, and visits to the Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Centers, participants are exposed to components of clinical research, including the transition from bench to bedside, the advantages and limitations of human and animal models, the regulatory process that governs clinical research, and the difference between clinical research and clinical care.
